Gift Aid / School Fund

An important message from Mr Dean

Our Gift Aid and School Fund schemes for voluntary financial contributions have been an important source of funds for many years. I hope you will consider supporting your child’s school in this way. Please contact our Finance Team if you require further information about either scheme ( ).

Thank you in advance for your generous support.

Matthew Dean

Gift Aid

The Gift Aid scheme is administered by the Friends of Poynton High School. This is a registered charity with the objective of improving the learning environment in school. Contributions to Gift Aid carry an additional advantage in that the charity is able to reclaim tax from HMRC, giving our school an extra 25p for every £1 you give. It will not cost you any extra.  You are able to stop the donations at any time should your circumstances change.

The Friends of Poynton High School trustees decide how funds are spent, insisting that monies are allocated only to schemes that benefit students’ learning experiences.

For example, in recent years Gift Aid has funded:

  • Outfitting the school library with new “reading areas” and significantly increasing the reading literature available
  • Outfitting of a brand new, state of the art, science laboratory
  • ICT Raspberry Pi Computers
  • House Banners and Student Leadership Honour Boards
  • Additional picnic benches for students to use during social times
  • Basketball nets
  • SEN Social Club games
  • Student Rewards

One-Off Contributions

For those who do not wish the long term commitment of Gift Aid it is possible to make a one-off contribution to school.  To do this please pay by cheque (made payable to Friends of Poynton High School) or cash, and return the form at the bottom of this page to school in the post or through reception.  If you wish to pay electronically please contact who will advise you how to do that.

What should I do?

If you wish to contribute to our Gift Aid scheme please complete a "Deed of Gift Aid" available at the bottom of this page.  Please return this to the Finance Team as soon as possible. The envelope could be dropped off at reception or posted to Finance at the school address.

I do hope you are able to give the school your financial support and enhance the service we provide to all our students. We are extremely grateful for any donations made and I promise you that the money will be put to good use.
