School open

Dear Parents and Carers

I can confirm that we will be open on Monday 17th December and for the remainder of the week.  We very much look forward to a great week of lessons, Christmas celebrations and our end of term whole school assembly on Friday.

The issues experienced on Friday are still being resolved and therefore we will be unable to provide a "warm/cooked service" from our kitchens.  We will have a full alternative cold service available of salads, sandwiches, baguettes and cold snacks.  Unfortunately we are not able to use our ovens and hobs for the preparation of a full "hot service".  I am genuinely very sorry that we are not able to provide this service and would wish to assure you that we are working, in partnership with our catering provider, on resolving the issues as a matter of priority.

At time of writing, I would expect that the "cold service only" will remain in place until the end of term however I am expecting engineers on site on Monday and will update once we have a resolution.

I previously communicated that the issues were due to a small gas leak and unreliable electricity supply to our kitchens.  Following an assessment by engineers late on Friday I can confirm that the main root cause of the problem is due to failure in the kitchen extraction system and not due to any leaks, because of the way the systems are interlinked they initially presented in the same way.

We will work to get the problem solved as a matter of priority and will update you once we are able to move back over to a full "hot and cold" service.

Thank you in advance for your support and patience while we resolve this matter.

Yours faithfully,

Mr David Waugh
