Poynton High School welcome 'Poynton in Business' for an Early Start

The Career Mark Award has been awarded to Poynton High School following a full assessment of Careers Education provided throughout the school and confirms that the School is meeting the national standard in Careers Education.

Poynton High School recently hosted the regular Poynton in Business Breakfast Meeting for the first time.  At this meeting there were a number of speakers providing information on the Career Ready programme, apprenticeships and Career Guidance at the school.

The meeting was a huge success, taking place in the new state of the art Sixth Form Centre. Speakers included Lee Bemowski, Career Ready Lead, Lorna Webb, Head of Careers and 2 former students, Adam Costello and Marcus McGill who completed their Career Academy Programme last year and are now enjoying a full time apprenticeship in banking and a University course in Law.

“It was a real privilege to welcome local businesses to our school and it provided a great opportunity for us to outline our career programmes that take place at Poynton High School and meet students who have benefited from the Career Ready programme. It was a highly informative meeting and we very much look forward to continuing to build our partnerships with our local community in this way.” said David Waugh, Head Teacher at Poynton.
